Skeleton Crew is a collective of artists unconcerned with established format. In a time when everything seems to have been done, we ask ourselves, why should we try to satisfy a sense of familiarity for our audience? Why should we protect them and ourselves from being surprised? Crossing genre with genre, you still get genre. And what is genre if not an attempt to mould newness into oldness? We say genre died some time in the nineties. We live in the present. We are musician, composers, artists and designers. We are João Orecchia, Jana+Koos, Mpumi Mcata, Liam Lynch and we live in Johannesburg.
